"Life is like a prism. What you see depends on how you turn the glass" - Jonathan Kellerman
I have been working in the Human Service Field for over 12 years and as a Professional Counselor since 2018, in residential crisis centers, psychiatric inpatient hospital settings, higher education institutions, and providing clinical oversight to specialized populations. I have gained experience in individual counseling, family counseling, addiction counseling, trauma, and crisis stabilization, in addition to a unique specialty in supporting individuals diagnosed with Prader-Willie Syndrome, (a rare eating disorder). My area of expertise is in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-centered Approach, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), in addition to treating generalized anxiety and crisis management.
My approach is to help people identify and achieve their personal goals to living happier, healthier lives by coping with the issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and stress. I practice from a person-centered perspective, meaning I collaborate with you in a non-judgmental way, respecting that you are the expert on your life. Together, we will work towards increasing/improving coping skills, setting goals, and accomplishing them in a way that best meets your needs.
I love being a therapist! It is my life passion and my calling to help others in their pain so they may be able to find healing and relief. Some might describe me as realistic and hopeful at the same time. I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients and look forward to the longevity that my career choice will bring.
My practice also includes working with clients experiencing difficult life transitions, feeling “stuck” or seeking a higher quality of life, and stress management.
